Some hotels near national parks aren’t intended for people who actually want to hit the trail and explore, and there’s no problem with that. Outside the Grand Canyon, for example, Amangiri is the peak of luxury, with pools nestled in the desert landscape. Near Dry Tortugas is a hotel named Little Palm Island, a gorgeous private island for tranquil living in thatched-roof bungalows. Hotels like these are extraordinary destinations on their own, with nearby national parks an optional addition. But this is not that list.
